Special presentations, led by acknowledged experts, will complement paper group discussions. We envision these as similar to TED talks – (approximately 20 minutes) leading to small group discussions with a different mix of colleagues, and ending with a 20-minute plenary feedback session. This may vary depending on the focus and content of presentations.
|Deadline for discounted hotel room reservation||Discounted conference rate still available|
|Paper Abstract Submission Deadline||Extended to June 1, 2015|
The ISfTE 2015 Seminar organizers are aware that Ramadan occurs at the same time as the June 21-26 Seminar. We wish to make all members comfortable for our dialogs with colleagues. Therefore, we are preparing to provide very early and late meals for those observing Ramadan. Please indicate your observance on the registration form or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Since its inception ISfTE has embraced the future. It has sought to identify those specific global questions, concerns and developments likely to confront educational systems that will, in turn, have major impacts on the professional development of teachers and the students they teach.
As always, this ISfTE seminar will continue to concern itself with critical global issues that teachers and their students will face in the near future. These include such things as:
Critical Issues for Tomorrow’s Teachers
Paper Group Strands:
Note: these strands are not absolute. As always, ISfTE wishes papers to reflect the interests and concerns of our participant teacher educators. We ask, however, that papers show connections with our overall theme: Critical Issues for Tomorrows Teachers either in content or implications. Related questions for discussions in the paper group may also be included at the end of the paper.
Montclair State University is located in Northern New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from Manhattan, New York City.
Please note that many of the seminar’s agenda and activities will take place at the hotel. Participants are expected to stay at this hotel where we have arranged substantial discounts and tax exemption. Staying at any other hotel in the area is strongly discouraged, likely to be much more expensive, with no tax exemption, and incur substantial extra travel/taxi costs.
